Great food. Nice wine selection & bar. Desserts to ENJOY one or all.
The Bakery right down the road is Fantastic and has very friendly people
Tenderloin a little underdone but bill was miss counted.
Delicious food in a cozy venue. The outdoor seating was lovely.
We visit here every year during our anniversary trip to Madeline Island. The food here is well designed and executed. They focus on local ingredients and making dishes that are just a bit more classy than you'd expect from a little restaurant on the Island. The decor is homey, the staff is friendly, and the food is good. Definitely worth a visit!
Great food Been here many times. Not often you can eat outside in northern Wisconsin
They made us sit in the festering sun when they were dead. We asked to move and that was a big nono..
Best restaurant on the island. I am always surprised by the creative new dishes they come up with, all using beautifully fresh local ingredients. You’ll leave feeling healthy and satiated, not overstuffed. Wine selection represents great value and tastes better than you’d expect.
The one plus about this restaurant was that they used very high quality ingredients .But that was it. The entire restaurant has about ten tables so good luck getting seated right away. Our server was terribly slow and we ended up getting help from the hostess instead after our server neglected us for the entire meal. Also, the food was WAY over priced! $24 for a quinoa salad is ridiculous anywhere.
The food is exceptional. Fast, friendly service and a full bar
Omg! Sunday night of Memorial Day weekend and they're serving lighter fare. We're sharing a cup of celery and gorgonzola soup (wow!), a whitefish salad on a croissant (excellent), and a "too live for" chocolate truffle cake (decadent)! Happy 40th anniversary to me!
Best food on the island ‼️
Soooo good. Tomato dill soup. Local herb and pesto whitefish. Housemade espresso panna cotta. Perfectly balanced dishes with all the right flavors- hit all the right spots. Well-paced dining that is ALWAYS worth the wait. And sunset view was the icing. (Mom with the melt-in-your-mouth perfectly done tenderloin for the win!). Unassuming, Island atmosphere with dishes that don’t disappoint. If you miss this, you’re missing out.
Leaps and bounds above all other meals I've had in the area. The dining experience was very memorable.
If you want fine dinning and still be able to pay for the rest of your vacation. Cafe Seiche is a delectable choice. Everything is made from scratch with a touch of a farm house supper on a Sunday at Granny's, Such a warm inviting place to sit and relax. My husband I will definitely be making this a permanent place to eat at when we come back to the island. Great work Chris Seiche, and all of your employees!!!!
Was so pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! The food was fresh and delicious. Greens grown on site. We had a couple of fish dishes and a beef pot pie and all of them were excellent. Staff was very nice and attentive! I would make a special trip over from Bayfield just to go to this restaurant!
My new wife and I went in for an early dinner. We started with a smoked white fish cake. The texture was like a custard that was totally unexpected but it was so good! I had the beef tenderloin and my wife had the fish entree. I don't recall what it was but I remember it and the beef were cooked perfect. We were excited for our first visit and we were not disappointed!
Service was slow (about an hour to get dinner) but food was good.
Shepherds Pie with beef tips with small salad on side was excellent and 4 on Sunday was not busy and service very efficient and friendly. Highly recommend.
The food was excellent! I had the Whitefish salad sandwich and it was better than any tuna salad I've ever had and my wife had roast beef that was also incredible and the best part was that it was served up fresh with in about 4 minutes time which is faster than any drive-through I've ever been in LOL!Kudos Cafe sachet 5 star
I have nothing but good things to say about this place. This restaurant would be among the best in any city, and it’s quite a surprise to find it on Madeline Island. There were five entrees on the menu the night we went, and it was hard to choose between them since they all looked so good! If you go, try and get a seat on the outside porch. The view of the sunset is amazing.
Bad service, stuffy and echoey. Waiter spilled beer on me.
Outstanding food and service! Well worth a visit.
Incredible food, awesome service. Thank you for accommodating one member of our party with gluten allergies.
Terrific steaks on beautiful Madeline island
I had the tenderloin and my boyfriend had pork. Both were excellent. The presentation of the food was gorgeous! Recommend!
Always delicious, always local, always quality food and experience. Out of all the options on Madeline Island, Cafe Seiche is the best place to go for dinner. Support local! And if it's on the menu you MUST try the Key Lime Tart.
I have to say after reading the reviews I was excited to visit this place. We arrive with only 4 people and the bar and 2 people at a table. We were delayed to be ask how they could help, we decided on food which arrived 1 hour later where people that came in after us go served before us. Our appetizer soups where Luke warm, the pizza’s were absolutely terrible and we sat and waited for the bill for at least 15 minutes after we Asked for it. Very poorly managed.
Great food and wonderful service on beautiful Madeline Island. Perfect. For some reason, Google sometimes shows this as a review of Lotta's, which is the predecessor of Cafe Seiche. My review is of Seiche
Was disappointed, the menu said a bowl of soup was $6.00, ordered a bowl of soup. The bill came, it was $14.00. I questioned it and was told it was a fish chowder. I said I asked for a bowl of soup per the menu. The price and sneakiness of it was disappointing.
As always, a great night with excellently prepared local dishes. Great service as well!
All 6 of us had wonderful meals. I had the Lake Trout melt and it was fantastic! Highly recommend this wonderful cafe!!
Lara was an amazing waitress and the food was absolutely delicious!
We were staying in Bayfield and were planning on eating at a wonderful restaurant in town on the day of our anniversary. Our anniversary landed on a Sunday and they weren't open for Sunday dinners yet. We read reviews and decided that Cafe Seiche might be worth the ferry trip to Madeline Island. It is a short walk to the restaurant from the ferry landing so you don't need to bring a car. The food was excellent! The best we had so far this weekend. The waitress was wonderful and suggested a great wine to go with my almond crusted trout. My husband's beef tenderloin was cooked to perfection. The chocolate cake with chocolate ganache was the perfect ending to our wonderful meal. The pictures don't do it justice. We had taken some bites out of each of the plates before I remembered to take a picture. 🙄 We will definitely make the trip again next time.
